Beautiful hike to the Götzendorf castle.
0 km Leave the Rohrbach-Berg town square in a south-westerly direction on Hanriederstraße, after approx. 100 m turn right into Grabenstraße. After a few minutes' walk you will come to the sinnenreich path, which starts at the Villa sinnenreich. Now turn left at the Sinnenreich station "Das unmögliche Dreieck".
The field path leads through the subway of the bypass road to a biotope, which invites you to take a breather with a small rest area and the stations "Sprachrohr" and "Kann die Kopfhaut zählen". You follow the field path that promises you a "view-view-view" at the next station at the edge of the forest and dive into the Lanzerstorfer Holz.
You cross a small bridge and continue your way to the ...

1.9 km ... The path branches off to the "sinnenreich" (rich in the senses) - not far from the Polstermühle (mill). Here you continue straight ahead. Shortly afterwards, the forest ends and you leave the wide path to the right on a narrow path down to the meadow, cross the Fischbach stream and turn right onto a meadow path that leads uphill towards the edge of the forest opposite.
Follow this briefly uphill, then turn off the edge of the forest and continue along the field path. Immediately afterwards, you will come to an asphalt road, which you follow uphill to the right. At the top, next to the cross, a beautiful resting place with a wonderful view of Rohrbach-Berg invites you to linger. Follow the road to the left and shortly afterwards you will reach the ...

3.8 km ... Village square of Götzendorf. Here you can visit the castle chapel and the beautiful inner courtyard of the castle. Leave the village on the asphalt road in the direction of Rohrbach-Berg. Shortly after the end-of-town sign, do not overlook the turn-off to the right into a field/meadow path. Follow the meadow path down into the Fischbachtal valley, where you loop back to the road to Rohrbach-Berg at the sawmill. Turn right and walk uphill to the ...

5.7 km ... Village of Unterfischbach. Turn left and walk through the village until you reach a dirt road that forks after about 300 m (note: there is no sign here, as this would be a hindrance to the farmer working in the fields). At the fork, turn left towards the forest and shortly afterwards you will come across the part of the Götzendorfer Steig that you already know. Returning along the same path in the opposite direction, the trail leads you ...

9 km ... to the starting point at Rohrbach-Berg town square.

Legend: "The water witch from the Katzensteg" A path runs from Götzendorf Castle over the Katzenberg down to the Fischbach. A long time ago, a water witch was up to mischief there at night. A carter had stayed too long in the inn and night fell. On his way home, he suddenly heard a loud splashing and rushing sound; it splashed and splashed. The servant thought he saw a woman's hair fluttering in the mist and huge hands with sharp claws reaching for him. In his distress, he made a promise to the fourteen helpers and all was immediately peaceful again around him. I wonder if this was the witch of the cat bridge who washed her laundry at night.
