Gerstlhaus Museum

We warmly welcome you to the "Gerstlhaus" Museum!

The fascinating museum includes a tiny shop and a post office reminding of imperial times. In the back part of the beautiful building in Baroque style, the living room of the shopkeeper´s family can be found. At the nostalgia shop the visitors can buy handmade products created by the participants in a special workshop for the deaf and visually impaired.

An authentic, little shop typical for the 19th century hosts today´s museum where the local food supply of times long past is on display. Get to know more about this unique type of shop offering all the necessary things of everyday use. The shop is not only a museum but also a part of the "Schenkenfelden World" project supported by the Monastery. Therefore, a full range of art objects, designed by a group of deaf and visually impaired people, can be purchased on the spot.
