The Wenzl loom is the slowest loom in the world!
In Helfenberg, people have been living and weaving since the 12th century. As the new time machine, this world's most sleazy loom continues to weave its own tradition, thereby breaking the bridge to the third millennium. Just as the clock can express its time with two fingers, the millennium loom tells its story through the length of the woven braid. Wenzl made his first shot in the New Year's Eve 2000 and manufactures a 2,213 m long carpet in 100 years. Slowly but surely, the copper boat covers 903 km in a total of 36,889 days or 885,336 hours, which corresponds to a distance from Helfenberg to Brussels. Take time to watch Wenzl 2000 at work. Five minutes before each full hour awakens the Helfenberg landmark, presses the last shot to the fabric, closes the longitudinal threads, prepares the warp threads and ties punctually at every full hour a new chapter old-established craftsmanship.Volně přístupné!
